Bruce R. Hoogstraten

Bruce R. Hoogstraten is President and CEO of Next Generation Storytellers and President of Highstreet Coaching LLC, a consulting practice specializing in governance, strategic planning, board development, executive evaluation, and organizational leadership.

With more than 30 years of leadership experience spanning engineering, operations, business management, and nonprofit governance, Bruce has become a recognized advisor to boards of directors and executive leadership teams throughout the country. He has served in numerous board leadership roles, including Board Chair, Vice Chair, and CEO Search Committee Chair for one of the nation's largest credit unions, and has guided organizations through governance modernization, executive succession, strategic planning, and board effectiveness initiatives.

A nationally recognized speaker and facilitator, Bruce has presented at conferences throughout the United States on governance, board effectiveness, leadership, executive succession, director responsibilities, and nonprofit excellence.

His civic and nonprofit leadership includes service as Chairman of the Board of Fellows at Norwich University, Chairman of the Peninsula YMCA, Chairman of Virginia's Aerospace Advisory Council, and trustee and director positions with numerous educational, civic, and nonprofit organizations.

At Next Generation Storytellers, Bruce is helping guide the organization's growth, governance, fundraising strategy, and long-term sustainability as it expands opportunities for students through storytelling, filmmaking, and career-readiness programs.

Bruce holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Norwich University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, and is passionate about helping mission-driven organizations build strong governance, sustainable growth, and lasting community impact.
